We grow a variety of vegetable starts for your spring gardens. Normally we have multiple tomato varieties including cherry, grape, slicer, beefsteak, Roma and container friendly varieties. We also have tomatillos, eggplant, sweet peppers, squash, cucumbers and a wide array of hot peppers.

Plants native to central North Carolina have become the largest portion of the nursery as interest in native plants, wildlife gardening and pollinator gardening grows. We do not grow any nativars (cultivar versions of native plants), only straight natives. I adjust and add to what we grow each year based on demand and popularity of varieties. You can always find something new and different. We grow plants for a wide array of conditions from sun to shade to dry areas to wetland plants.

We grow a wide variety of culinary and medicinal herbs including multiple varieties of mint, and harder to find herbs such as valerian, feverfew and anise hyssop.
We grow other edible plants such as figs, elderberries, alpine strawberries and mulberries. As with all our plants they are Certified Naturally Grown and available for online purchase (pickup at market or farm only, no shipping) and for direct purchase at the SODU farmers market on Saturdays, or at the farm during the on-farm plant sales we have twice a year.
Nursery sales begin in mid March with early spring vegetables and herbs, and continue through October. Our primary sales outlets are the South Durham Farmers Market every Saturday. You can also shop the on-farm nursery by appointment or shop online to pick up at the farm or at the SODU Farmers market. We have a spring and fall on farm plant sale (check the events and workshops tab for dates/times).
We are working on participating in other plant sales locally, so keep an eye on the newsletter or social media for updates.
