Vegetable starts

Starting in early March we have kale, collard, lettuce, and other early spring vegetable starts available for purchase.

Starting in April each year we have a wide variety of hot pepper, tomato, sweet pepper, eggplant, and squash seedlings available. Seedlings can be purchased online for pickup at the SODU farmers market on Saturdays, the Chapel Hill farmers market on Tuesdays or at the farm by appointment (or the spring and fall on farm plant sales).

Native plants

We have a wide variety of plants native to (central) North Carolina available for purchase from April through October. Each year we add more varieties to the available plants. They include wild flowers, ferns, trees, shrubs, grasses and more. Check the online store for a full list of available plants, and follow our social media for up coming new and showcased plants.

Herbs and other edibles

We grow a wide variety of culinary and medicinal herbs including 9 (more to come) varieties of mint, and harder to find herbs such as valerian, feverfew and anise hyssop.

We grow other edible plants such as figs, elderberries, and mulberries with more coming in 2023 (I'm hoping to have a small number of apple trees available next year!). As with all our plants they are Certified Naturally Grown and available for online purchase (pickup at market or farm only, no shipping) and for direct purchase at the SODU farmers market on Saturdays, the Chapel Hill farmers market on Tuesdays or at the farm during the on farm plant sales we have twice a year.
